WBA Perspective

World Baseball Academy’s owns and operates the Hoosier Classic Tournaments.

WBA vision is to develop leaders who positively impact our world.  Our leadership believes Sports such as baseball and softball provide young athletes with a tremendous opportunity to build teamwork and leadership abilities, improve physical skills, gain experiences, learn  life  lessons and shape values that lead to excellence on and off the field.

Our tournaments allow our organization to serve a wide range of young men and women while also creating experiential learning opportunities for our internship program.

The significant transformation of the ASH Centre campus into a world class outdoor facility is now allowing World Baseball Academy to expand our tournaments and impact on our next generation of young leaders.

The Hoosier Classic Tournaments have been hosting quality events in Fort Wayne since 1994. Primarily in the youth baseball realm, our events have earned the reputation for hosting some of the most well-organized tournaments in the Midwest.

History of Tournaments

In 1993, the very first Hoosier Classic Baseball Tournament was developed in Fort Wayne, Indiana. These tournaments originally began as small events to help local teams face quality competition and secure funds to travel to different communities and compete.

Over time, these events have grown into some of the most well-respected tournament venues in the Midwest.

In 2017, WBA's ASH Centre facility went through a major renovation project thanks to numerous donors involved in the "More than a Game" capital campaign.

A first-class venue featuring three (3) brand new fields with artificial turf infields created a situation where quality facilities could now align with quality event planning.

In 2019, WBA expanded into hosting youth softball events for young ladies.  In 2020, a fourth field was opened for both traditional and adaptive programming thanks to the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and numerous donors in our Phase 2 Capital Campaign.

Over the past 15 years, these events have attracted teams from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia, and Canada!
