Connor Wilkins
Connor was born and raised in Fort Wayne Indiana. Connor grew up playing Little League at Georgetown. Connor attended Concordia Lutheran High School. Connor was 1st team all conference and all district Catcher while at Concordia. Connor was also one of two team captains his senior year. Connor was recognized by PBR as one of the top 50 players in the state of Indiana.
Connor went on to play college ball at Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan. His sophomore year at Jackson Connor was recognized as a MCCAA Academic All Conference Catcher. After Jackson, Connor received a scholarship to play ball at Indiana Tech where he suffered a career ending injury.
After his playing career ended Connor became the Head JV Baseball Coach and Varsity Catching Coach at Northrop High School from 2014-2017. While Connor was at Northrop the Varsity won their conference 2 out of 4 years and a sectional championship. Both of the varsity catchers that Connor worked with went on to play college baseball, one at IU Kokomo, the other at PFW.
Connor Wilkins was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Ivy Tech CC. Before becoming the head coach in 2021. Connor was responsible for overall player development, strength and conditioning, hitting, and catching. As an assistant Connor's main area of expertise was working with catcher's, strength and conditioning, and recruiting. In the inaugural season of Ivy Tech Baseball Connor helped the team finish with a 25-18 record with only 13 players who would go on to be famously called “The Dirty Dozen”. In Ivy Tech’s second season the Titans set a program record for wins with 33, finishing 33-14 overall. His third season at Ivy Tech was cut short due to Covid, the team finished with record of 6-5. In his fourth year as a coach the Titans made history making the Regional tournament for the first time in program history. The Titans finished 31-25. Connor became the Head Coach of the Ivy Tech program after the 2021 season. He compiled a 45-38 record as a head coach and lead Ivy Tech to a regional appearance in his second season. Connor’s catchers have gone on to have great careers at Ivy Tech and then at their four year schools. Tyler Rickert won the Gold Glove for Region 12 in 2018, Tyler had gone on to catch at St. Francis and made All-Conference for them in 2021. Evan Hylek earned a scholarship to Lyon University (Arkansas) he won the Gold Glove for his team in 2021. Evan is now the Head Assistant Coach at Wabash Valley CC. From 2020-2021 Connor coached Grant Lashure who was recognized as the All-Region 12 Catcher and earned a scholarship to attend Eastern Illinois University. Grant went on to play in the Draft League and was recognized as an ALL- OVC Tournament Catcher. Connor lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Alana, and his two daughters, Rey and Margot.
